We are happy to announce the first meeting of 2009 of the EVM Community of Interest (CoEye).

This meeting is scheduled for 12pm to 2pm on 25 February 2009 at the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA).  The topic for this meeting is "Understanding Resource Management Through Earned Value Analysis," presented by Wayne Abba.

This presentation is part of the PMI College of Performance Management (CPM) "Principles of Earned Value Metrics &  Analysis" (CPM 400) curriculum. Participants will learn how to interpret EVM cost and schedule performance trends and relate them to funding needs, contractor profitability and baseline management.

Sign up early – Wayne is a popular speaker and space is limited.  Although there is no cost for attendance, pre-registration is necessary to facilitate processing of attendees. PMI membership or Federal employment is not required in order to attend.

Wayne Abba

A retired public servant and now an independent consultant specializing in public sector management issues, Mr. Wayne Abba is known internationally for bringing Earned Value Management from government into the Project Management mainstream. He is active in industry and professional associations.  Mr. Abba led the EVM initiatives during his public service career in the Department of Defense and continues to lead through his membership in the National Defense Industrial Association and the Project Management Institute’s College of Performance Management. In 1999, he received the Project Management Institute’s Distinguished Contribution Award for advancing project management in the public and private sectors.

Location of the February EVM CoEye Meeting

The meeting will be held at the Bessie Coleman Conference Center on the second floor of the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA).  The FAA is located at 800 Independence Ave., SW, Washington, DC 20591, just behind the GSA NCR Building.  It is accessible via metro, L'Enfant Plaza stop.  Use the Maryland Avenue exit.  It is the tallest of the white buildings in front of you when you exit the escalator (building to your left).
