Topic: Implementing an Earned Value Management System

Over the past decade, federal government pronouncements and policy have made the requirement for the application of Earned Value Management to federally funded contracts an increasingly likely prospect.

This presentation begins by explaining that it is becoming increasingly likely that any federal government contractor or subcontractor, even a small company, could be faced with the requirement to implement an EVM System at some point. It then identifies the components for full EVMS implementation and provides an explanation of what an Earned Value Management system is. The main body of the presentation takes the audience through the entire EVMS implementation process beginning with the decision to implement, through planning and deploying the System, preparing for the Validation / Compliance Review and concluding with a discussion of Surveillance.

Desmond Bollers

Desmond Bollers has over 20 years of Project Management experience and more than a decade of Earned Value Management experience. He has worked for defense contractors Raytheon, Northrop Grumman, BAE Systems and SI International on contracts for various departments and agencies of the Federal Government including the Department of Defense (Pentagon). He has also provided consulting services to federal government contractors including Raytheon, EADS-North America, Northrop Grumman, ArmorGroup, SBIG USA Inc and Aurora Flight Sciences.

Desmond Bollers, a certified PMP and EVP, also holds the Graduate Certificate in Earned Value Management from the PMI-CPM. He owns BMS Project Services LLC, a project management consultancy.
