Synopsis:

Matthew Weaver, our guest speaker for the August 15, 2011 M2D2 presentation, will review basic Six Sigma principles, identify how they apply to project management, and show how to implement those principles in your current projects. In considering the role of Six Sigma in your projects, you do not need to wait for an expert or get your certification first.  In Six Sigma 101, Matthew provides an engaging introduction to core Six Sigma principles that apply to every-day project management.  Matthew will share tips and techniques to empower you to start using and gaining value from Six Sigma immediately.

Matthew Weaver:

Matthew Weaver is a consultant specializing in project, development, and test methodologies and best practices, process improvement, and project execution. He has over 30 years of technical experience and through his professional services company, American Project Management, offers consulting resources and expertise to commercial, non-profit, government clients.

A resident of Vienna, Virginia, Matthew earned his undergraduate degree from California State University, Fullerton, and attended graduate studies at American University. He also trained in the U.S. Navy as a nuclear reactor operator and electronics technician. Matthew currently holds Project Management Professional (PMP), Certified ScrumMaster (CSM), and ITIL V3 certifications.

Matthew is founder and owner of American Project Management, LLC.  In addition to his consulting work he is a professional public speaker, seminar leader, and trainer. Matthew is also an active volunteer with many professional organizations.
